This NVQ recognises the competence of engineers who install, service and repair a range of special doors. Examples include:
Both power operated and manually-operated products are covered.
The construction industry is moving gradually towards a fully-qualified workforce, through the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Having a CSCS card proves your level of competence, and achieving the Door Systems NVQ is the now the only way of getting a permanent "skilled" blue CSCS card, renewable at five-yearly intervals. Candidates who are in the process of undertaking the NVQ may obtain red, non-renewable, CSCS cards; these last for three years for trainees and one year for "experienced workers".
ConstructionSkills welcomes all enquiries relating to qualifying a company's workforce and meeting the training and assessment needs of the industry. Please contact the National Specialist Accreditation Centre on 0300 456 5561 or visit their website at www.cskills.org
